I have several extensions/add-ons that I am unable to delete, remove or uninstall.

When I go to Settings/Manage Add-ons it is listed under the section "Not Available". When I highlight PPT2PNGo it says that the type is a Browser Helper Object, Enable/Disbable is greyed out so I am not able to disable it. When I right click on it I am not able to delete it and I am told that it is "managed". I have tried uninstalling it; however, it no longer appears in the list in the control panel. I found the file that it says the extension is in, but it is not there. I found a site that said to go to Run, type regedit and follow a bunch of paths to delete the extensions. I did this and yet it is still in my extensions list. I am so frustrated!!! Pornographic images keep popping up when my son attempts to go to children's websites.

Can someone PLEASE help me.

Thank you.

You can download Malwarebytes to see if it will extract the BHO's, but more than

likely it will take Combofix to clean them and THEN they might not be cleaned out.

I would use Kaspersky's TDSS Killer to find and delete rootkits/bootkits, then run

Malwarebytes in full scan and delete as prompted, then close your anti virus program

and run Combofix to do a major clean. Save important files before Combofix.

Another good registry cleaner is R.KILL. avail at the site I'm linking to. Scroll

down about mid ways to see the loads for R.KILL, Malwarebytes, TDSS Killer
.

Combofix is ready for download and Bleeping Computer is a very safe site.

Used it for years.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/

http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE

I download these important programs as well as the free version of Super Anti Spyware

onto a flash drive using another clean pc, then clean the unit in safe mose with networking

after loading the programs to downloads or desktop. This way you know the programs

were loaded off a clean pc and website. Make sure to turn off System Restore BEFORE CLEANING.

SYSTEM > Advanced Settings > System Protection > Configure > Click "turn system restore off"

click ok or apply, close all, start cleaning.

You may consider using something besides Internet Explorer. Chrome or Firefox are

a better browser. I also always install WOT or Web Of Trust. It pastes a small icon

next to sites. If green, the site is safe. If orange or red STAY AWAY ! >

https://www.mywot.com/

Thank you. I will give these a try and see if they are finally removed.

I was using Chrome which is when the problems started, so I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, but problems still existed. So I unistalled again and have been using just IE. Thank you again.

You're welcome. I hope they work for you, but that you say it's in CHROME I too

had a bad exp with it. I didn't have much luck getting rid of a weird site that

kept coming up when I' clicked the browser. I went in and reset the home page

to www.news.google.com or something likt that and ended up with Google News

which was fine. I never use CHROME, but an early version of Firefox set up with

different safety spps and that's all I ever use.

I hope you get it clean. At least you'll find a lot of Adware and possibly other malware

using the programs I listed. I've used them for many years and are very helpful.

Good luck.
