Hi bzimme

What sort of issues are you having with Windows 7? Depending what they are, alongside the fact you were getting high CPU usage, it may point to a motherboard problem, and not a problem with the OS!

If your recovery partition is corrupted, and you didn't make any recovery disks when you first bought your laptop, then the only thing you can do is to contact Acer support for your region to see if they can still supply the recovery disks for your 7720. Although, I fear this may not solve your problem.

If you can post back with more information on the problems you're having, I'll see if I can help further.

I had a problem with my ACER 7720 getting High CPU usage all the time. I tried to do a recovery from my recovery partition and it was corrupted, could not do a recovery back to factory settings. I took laptop to repair center they said that the software on the laptop Windows Vista was not good to go woth Windows 7. They loaded Windows 7 and now having many issues with the laptop. How can I go back to my original OS, probably need new drive also. Also what can be making me getting the High CPU usage messdage.
