Hi..

When you format the hard drive, it will erase the recovery partition from the HDD as well. So you won't be able to use the recovery partition to install the factory shipped OS on this computer using ALT + F10 keys.

If you would like to have the factory shipped OS, drivers on this computer back, you have to purchase the recovery discs.

You may go to this LINK and check if the recovery media is available for this computer.

Model:Aspire One D250-1215 (Netbook)

Pre-Installed Windows 7 starter

2 days ago I decided to downgrade to XP Using a USB flash drive on my netbook because it runs very smoothlly on my friends Netbook. So when I installed XP I used the partition where my Windows 7 Starter was (C:Acer). So I installed it from there. Also it formated the hard drive to NFTS. So I installed XP and I wouldnt boot to the hard drive. It would have to boot from the USB then it would run on my PC. So I decided to go back to Windows 7 Starter to do more research on switching to XP. But when I resseted my Netbook using ALT+F10 It would say this "Windows Could Not Start becuase of a computer disc hardware configuration problem. Could not read from the selected Boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware. Please check the windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information" I have tried messing around with the BIOS settings but I just cant seem to find a fix. Here are my BIOS settings:
Quiet Boot: Enabled
Network Boot;Enabled
F12 Boot menu:enabled
D2D Recovery:enabled
SATA Mode: AHCI (IDE doesnt work as well)
FAST boot: enabled
Here is da boot priority order
1:IDE0: WDC WD 1600BEVT-22ZCTO
IDE1:
USB FDD:
Network boot
USBHDD
USBCDROM

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP! IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIX THIS ALL DAY!
<LI-SPOILER> </LI-SPOILER>

Thank you for replying. Is there anyway else I can reinstall Windows on my computer. (I may make another attempt to install Windows XP via USB

If you have a retail version of Windows, you could install the same on this compute. Since this computer does not have an optical drive, you need to use an external USB DVD drive.
