tópico aspire 6930 w7, unknown dev (ich9m lpc interface controller - 2919 em Notebooks & Netbooks

Background - Aspire 6930 with vista. HD crashed. Replaced drive. Upgraded to Win 7 Pro which is supported for 6930. Downloaded all drivers from Acer for 6930 with Win 7 Pro (32 bit). Device manager shows unknown device which in property details is unknown device, manufacturer - unknown, location - on intel(R) ich9m lpc interface controller - 2919, " the drivers for this device are not install (code 28)". I installed the latest intel chipset driver from Acer(9.1.1.1015), results same problem. I installed the latest intel AHCI driver from Acer (8.9.0.1023), results same problem. I tried to update the driver from intel (f6flpy3289.zip, unpacked) which is associated with ich9m lpc...2919 Win7 (32 bit), result it will not install (most likely because the version is also 8.9.0.1023). This problem crosses vendor platforms, Sony, Dell, and HP all seem to have this problem. 2919 seems to be involved with intel matrix storage manager. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
