tópico AX1400 motherboard transplant em Desktops & All-In-Ones

Hi,

I needed to replace the motherboard in my Aspire AX1400. I obtained the exact same motherboard with the same part number and I replaced it.

Windows 7 (x64) started up but disk access seems slower, especially before the desktop shows up. System Properties shows Windows is activated and the "genuine" logo is there.

There is an issue with System Restore not working (You can setup restore points in the session you are in but all restore points vanish upon restart and System Restore will state there are no restore points stored every time I start windows).

Also, if system restore is not up and running (i.e. I have to go through and create a System Restore restore point in the logged on session) I have trouble plugging in and detecting certain USB devices -- they get identified as unknown devices unless I've ensured System Restore is working with a restore point -- and my observations show this condition is unpredictable because it works only sometimes.

And I haven't tested every piece of pre-existing software I've installed -- hopefully it's not picky about this change but I have yet to find that out.

What do I need to do to complete the transplant so Windows 7 works as it did before? (NOTE - this is not an upgrade, just replace with same motherboard). I simply swapped motherboards -- is it a serial number on the motherboard causing the problem?

Fix appreciated! - Thank you

PS - If I have to reinstall Windows 7, can I use the Acer Recovery discs I created when my old motherboard worked?
