ok unable to hang around much longer so here is my problem feel free to move it if you need to.

Hi every one I am new here and am looking for the answer to what should of been a simple question but I can not find the answer any where, not even after many internet searches.

My problem. I was getting a constant press F1 request on start up and I had to constantly reset the date and time. A friend said he knew the solution and he replaced the Cmos battery and for a while the F1 requests and need to reset the date and time on start up stopped. Then after a few weeks the F1 request on start up and resetting of the date and time started again.

The situation at present is that I have again replaced the comos battery with the same type and the F1 on start up requests again stopped. But once more after a few weeks the f1 requesting and the need to resetting of the date and tine has started again.

I am wondering if my friend used the wrong battery when he first replaced it, Can any one out there please confirm for me the correct Cmos battery number and size I need for the mother board below.

I found my answer in a responce to another thread. It seems that some how the wrong battery had been fitted and in my ignorance of this I yet again fitted the wrong battery this then compounded the problem further.

It seems the usualy CMOS battery on the mother board is a CR 2032 3 v I have now fitted one to my MB. I'll let you know if it works.

BTW many thanks to the person who advise I took on this.

It's good that you found that was the culprit, I was about to suggest a new PSU.
