      <title>Problems installing Vista M1641</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am helping a friend re-install Windows Vista on a AM1641-E1712A desktop PC. When we put the disc in the drive it boots up to install and then says&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;"&lt;EM&gt;A required CD/DVD driver device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After doing some research I just thought it needed the device drivers for the SATA Controller or Motherboard. The problem is I cannot find the drivers for the M1641 anywhere on the ACER site. I downloaded the closest one I could find, the driver for the M1640 but it didn't work.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1) Does anyone know how to get by this error on the model&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) Does anyone know where I get the drivers for this model on the Acer site?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I had to purchase the discs for her after the fact as the ones she had would not work. Did one was the vista disk and disk 2 was the drivers/software disc.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Well, you confirm me:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- This is not a new blank disk&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- You have the DVD of Acer for this model.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Read&amp;nbsp;the &lt;A target="_self" href="ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/desktop/empowering_technology/User%20Guides%202.5%20-%202.6/Acer%20eRecovery%20Management%20v2.5%20-%20final.pdf"&gt;user guide of eRecovery Management V2.5&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For information:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DVD1 is eRecovery Management&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DVD2 is Default Factory (windows, drivers, sofwares etc)&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The factory disks that came with the computer do not appear to be working. They spin up for a second and then quit.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I had to purchase new disks for this computer and as mentioned&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DISC 1 is the O/S&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DISC 2 is the drivers&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I cannot even find this model on the Acer.ca or Acer.com site.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PS: I am a 15+ computer tech, so feel free to offer any suggestion as I am pulling&amp;nbsp; my hair out.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
