I have an acer aspire 5600u 64 bit touch os win 8, started running a tuneup utilities program and had to restart to start scan, problem is it has been stuck at 27% all day and when I physically turn off and turn back on the computer it just keeps going back to what it was trying to do and sticking at 27%. I have pressed F3 on reboot and selected restore but that hangs at the acer start up screen. Totally fed up any help even if it means a complete re-set would be appreciated.

Disable the starting at startup option, restore windows to an earlier state with the system restore option and chose a restore point before you installed tune up.

Problem sorted. When doing a repair restore go do some shopping, or have a 2 day mini break, somewhere warm, it did eventually sort itself out. so thanks.

Hey donnydi, I'm also having the same problem with tune up utilities.. Its stuck on 27%.. Did you just leave yours at the 27% percent start up screen and it finished what it was doing? I really need this to work, my work is in there

Hi, yes I just left it at 27% and after a 2 or 3 hours it did eventually reset. But I had to re install any software I had put on which was a bind, but your work would still be ok.
