How can the DVD tray be accessed when the door won't open? Does anyone know?

Hi,

If you lift the flap that hides the DVD Drive, can you see a small hole in the dvd drive itself? You can insert a bent paperclip here to manually open the Drive.

You could also try to right click the Drive in Windows and click Eject to see if this will open it.

Thanks for replying. I have tried both suggestions but the paper clip doesn't work (there is some noise but no action) and right clicking results in a message saying that there is a problem ejecting.

Perhaps there is some mechanical problem.

Any other ideas?

Is there Media stuck in the drive?

You may have to press the paperclip quite hard in to the slot to manually move the mechanism to pop the drive door out.

Then once its out a bit, you can hold on to the front of the drive and pull it out.

If there is some media stuck and you remove it.. try to press the button to close the drive.
