Aspire v5-122p poor battery life

I have a brand new Acer Aspire V5-122P-0643, and am only getting about 2 1/2 hours of battery life.

There are screw holes on the bottom for an exterrnal battery pack, but no one seems to know about it. I've called Acer eCommerce 800-910-2237, emailed Acer, and a live chat with suport. Has anyone used an external battery? Also, what kind of battery life are other users getting from the installed 3-cell Li-ION battery?

Got mine 1 week ago. Running with internet and watching video continuously' the battery lasted about 2. 5 to 3 hours. Somehow watching video with google chrome the unit slow down considerably ' Upgraded to Windows 8.1 yesterday.

Please tell exactly how you upgraded. Did you have to get any new drivers and/or bios upgrade?

It's a free upgrade from Windows Store. If your notebook is currently installed with Windows 8, check the Windows Store for the free upgrade. Depending on your internet speed, the upgrade may take up to 3 hours to complete. So make sure your notebook is on AC power. My upgrade went smoothly without any hitch. Just follow the screen instructions. Good luck!

Are there any updates on the situation? Did you ever recieve a response from any of the sources you contacted?
