Richard, again. Everything I read states that the unit supports 8GB RAM with a 64 bit OS which I have. Kingston states that KAC-MEMJS/4G is the recommended Kingston memory for the Aspire TimelineX 5820T, but 8GB will not boot in the unit.

I am running an Aspire 5820T with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with 4 GB RAM. I have tried 8 GB (2 x 4GB) of PNY DDR3 PC3-8500 1066MHz and then tried 8 GB (2 x 4GB) of Kingston Technology DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz, part # KAC-MEMJS/4G. The system will not start with either set of chips and I must run startup recovery to get the notebook started when I put the old chips back in. Setup is fine and it lists 8 GB, however, getting into setup may require 10 or 20 tries because the notebook keeps resetting before it can get into setup. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.
