Acer aspire 5733 won't start up

I just did a system restore using restore disks received from ACER (took 3 weeks to get them.

Process seemed to go fine, in serted the last disk as requested (language packs), left it working and came back a few minutes late to find the disk ejected and the machine dead. NOW it will not even try to boot.

Tried removing battery etc -- no luck.

Blue powre light flashes a couple of times and then quits.

NO joy at all.

Suggestions (apart from junking a 15 month old macjine)

Solved part of the problem --- not booting at all was in fact a power issue.

Nopw have been able to get the machine to start, but the system restore does not appear to have worked. Will have to do it all again and see if it works this time.
