I'm sorry that the two of you are having this problem. If you tried to login to Acer Chat with your laptops, your new SSDs have changed your computers enough that the Acer site does not recognize your Serial numbers as valid.

Installing your original operating system on a different hard drive is usually difficult because the OEM is designed specifically for one computer, and it no longer recognizes your machine.

In order to increase profits, Microsoft makes it as difficult as possible to install a specific copy of Windows on more than one machine. In your case, it literally is impossible. You can re-install your original hard drive. Or you can buy a new copy of Windows. And you can try taking your machines to reputable computer shops to see if they can help you.

Okay so i have got a new ssd hard drive for my acer laptop and after talks with windows about how to do fresh install of my oem windows pre install they told me acer are the people i need to carry on my questions to with regards to the issue. Lo and behold i come to the support section and my snid and serial number are claimed by acer chat login to be invalid. Now, iv registered my laptop around time of purchase and have only had the laptop a maximum of 3-4 months i refuse to believe my product is not valid for support from acer and would like to know how acer plans to allow me to have a live chat session with a support person to fix the stupid issue of not being able to upgrade a new hard drive into the laptop without significant issues egarding the installation of fresh operating systems etc.

i hope to hear back from acer as soon as possible as this is getting beyond frustrating to be told i have an invalid serial on a device thats no where near a year old yet

thanks

I've sent you a PM, if you could provide that information I'll gladly look into why you're having these difficulties.

Our Chat and Email features will provide notice that a SN or SNID are out of warranty if we can validate the number. If it returns an invalid error there may be a simple mistake that is not allowing the system to locate your unit and verify it's warranty terms. We can fix that for you.
