(sigh) I got a really great deal on a Mexican camera. Then I tried to load the pictures on Windows 8. Windows 7 was better. Windows XP (I have three partitions on my desktop) works great.

You can check with the camera manufacturer's website for drivers.

If you provide the first 10 digits of your serial number then it is easier to see exactly what variation of the model of notebook you have. Some are sold with Bluetooth, others are not.

If you go into Control Panel > Device Manager :

Can you see an imaging device listed ? Or a device with a yellow exclamation mark besides it ? RIght click this item and select properties, go to the Details tab, drag down the property to Hardware Ids : Post the information on the forum.

We should be able to see what camera you have (using www.pcidatabase.com) and then determine what software to install.

Remember to uninstall all webcam software before installing new. A clean install is always preferable to an overwrite.

I hope this helps !

You do realize that if you uninstall your webcam software, the new webcam software might not work. Laptops have a lot of drivers issues. If you insist on doing it anyway, see if you can transfer the old software to a thumb drive in case you need to restore it.
