Acer Aspire 5742 cant boot from CD (It is bootable, tried elsewhere)

I have tried following options

a. Change in BIOS to bring CD ROM on top.

b. Enabled F12 in BIOS to bring up Boot menu, but Boot menu does only shows, 2 IDEs and 1 Network, no CD.

c. In Windows explorer, I can see DVD.

d. I have refreshed my BIOS with latest copy from Acer website

I have Windows 7 Home premium which is working all fine.

I have tried Windows Vista and XP professional CDs / DVDs which I am able to use installing in other Laptops.

I need this switch to test few software which dont work in Windows 7 (64 Bit)

Thanks for zour help.

You say 2 IDEs. Are you running two HDDs? If you are you could try removing the secondary and see if that clears up a conflict. Otherwise there's not much you can do. If you have a flash drive around you can make a usb copy of the disc. http://arstechnica.com/business/2009/12/the-usb-flash-drive/
