My wife has an Acer 7535 notebook. The computer is working fine and is not having any operational problems. The issue she is having is mechanical in nature. On the left side hinge, (where the power cord plugs in), the little plastic cover has fallen off and is nowhere to be found. This piece keeps the power connector alligned so that the internal connector does not get bent out of shape. The internal electric part is fine as long as the cable is held straight (the function that is normally done by the plastic piece that is missing). However, if the cord is pulled in any direction, then the internal connector momentarily stops making contact and the system beeps loudly, indicating the AC power has been lost. When the connecton is made again, the system beeps again (indicating it has AC power once more). Without the plastic piece in place this repeats rapidly and sounds like it is sending morse code!! (or as my wife says sounds like it is trying to make contact with the mother ship). The internal connector has been replaced twice already and the new connector will work reliably for about 2 weeks but then because the internal pieces ar being bent out of shape they start to have issues again.

The unit is out of warranty, and Acer will not even talk to me about getting a part for it. When I called they sent me to a ShopBySystem company that supposedly sells parts for out of warranty repairs, but they say they do not sell any plastic parts, just the electronics and other internal components. So now I have no way ro replace a small plastic part that is making the system a pain to use without it being there. Any idea where I can go to find this part? Any Acer technicians out there? I'm open for all suggestions.

Thanks

Rick

I believe the part you are referring to comes as part of the LCD bezel assembly. The part number is 60.PCC01.004.

Please see this image to verify this is the part you are needing:
