I have had exactly the same problem with my ACER Aspire S3 Ultrabook. I have done an ACER eRecovery back to factory settings, which rolled back to Windows 7 (thank goodness, because I hated Windows 8 and had too many problems with it), but my USB ports are still not working. I have tried everything I can possibly think of, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, and still no joy.

You don't need discs, if you check in ACER eRecovery, you should be able to restore to factory settings, as I did. But I don't know if that will fix your USB problems, because it certainly hasn't fixed mine.

My Ultrabook is less than a year old, and I have tried contacting ACER Support via email, but the Serial Number has not been recognised by ACER online! Help - I don't know where to go next!

Sylvs10
