BIOS R01-B1 here

I have installed this pc2-5300 kit

KVR667D2N5K2/2G

but I could not get it to work with 2x512MB pc2-5300 samsung supplied by Acer

It looks like Kingston runs 20-25% faster (memtest86+ 4.20) and no matter how you install the modules the motherboard will use the settings for Kingston modules. Testing seems to work but after 10 minutes the Samsung modules will stop working and they won't be recognized at next reboot until you power-off the E380

advanced DRAM settings are not available or locked

suggestions are welcome, since I could have missed something

My advice for who is going to upgrade is to get new 4x1GB from Kingston and sell the 2x512MB from Samsung to someone who wants a cheap upgrade to 2GB

It looks like this unit supports up to 4GB of memory at the DDR2 667/533/400 speeds, 1.8V, 1GB max per slot.

What's the total amount of memory that you have in the unit now?

DDR2 667 I believe is what DDR2 PC2-5300 is. Are all the memory modules int he unit now the same speed as what you upgraded?
