I have the same problem as this person, except the monitor I'm using is a V193W.

http://community.acer.com/t5/Acer-Monitors-TV-Projectors-and/No-signal-message/m-p/50991#U50991

I decided to add more memory to it, going from 1GB to 2GBs. After I installed the 1GB cards in the computer according to the manual the monitor said "no signal". I pulled them out and only installed one in the Zero slot to see if the computer would boot up. It didn't. I did the same witht the other one and got the same result. Each time I put the cards in I let them seat themselves, that is, put enough pressure upon them so the end clips snapped in place on their own. When I put the old 512MB cards back it fired right up. My video card connection is good, so it isn't that. In fact, I hooked up an old monitor and checked the cards against it with no change. I don't believe the cards are bad, either, because I have a another memory card of the same specification and used it as a check as well the two new ones from the upgrade kit.

Here's what I have. I'm using Windows XP Professional.

This information was pulled up from the most current Belarc Advisor a short time ago.

1.70 gigahertz Intel Celeron
8 kilobyte primary memory cache
128 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Not hyper-threaded

Board: Intel Corporation D845GLAD AAA86713-203
*removed personal information*
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Intel Corp.

So, receiving the No Signal on your monitor means that the computer is not sending a signal. I do not believe there is an issue with your monitor at all.

I'm not sure what computer you have, but all computers go through a POST (Power-On Self-Test) and generally speaking it checks for CPU, Memory, Video Output, Keyboard. Generally you'll get a single beep if it passed, and usually a series of beep that indicate where a failure occurred when one does.

Hello, Cory.

No, I didn't hear the beep. The keyboard didn't work as well.

If these cards are the issue, any suggestions on what I might use as a substitue is appreciated.

If you require any additional information, please ask.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of potential issues and solutions. If we're talking about an Acer computer, having the model would allow us to look up some additional information. If it's not an Acer, understanding what MB you have, what it's capable of supporting are the 1st factors. I apologize that I cannot provide more assistance on this issue at this time.
