Built-in webcam not detected since using windows 8

i've been using acer aspire 4750G

with Built-in webcam

when i was used win7, the webcam work very well

in the first time when i upgrade to win8, the webcam work properly

but now, the webcam not detected.. in the device manager too

i keep trying to upgrade the driver, but they said "no webcam detected" *not actually quote*

are this is because th built-in cam has crashed or something?

thx.. i really need your help

As you have told that the webcam was working fine after upgrading to Windows 8, you may try restoring the system to a previous date when the cam was working. The below link will help you with the steps.

If you recently installed Windows 8 on a computer that had a different operating system on it and you can get your webcam to work on the desktop side of Windows 8 but not in the Metro side of Windows 8, this may solve your issue.

Follow these steps to get your webcam working in both desktop and metro sides of Windows 8.

1. Go Settings/Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Devices and Printers/Device Manager

2. Go to the Imaging Devices and Disable the webcam

3. Go to Control Panel/Program and find your webcam's DRIVER and uninstall the DRIVER, not the webcam.

4. Shut down your computer; wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. Login and go back to the Device Manager (see steps 1 and 2 above) and then ENABLE the webcam.

This worked like a charm for me on my Fujitsu T5010 built-in webcam. I hope it works for you too.

Hi;

If the webcam still operational check this

1. Go to testmycam.com,

2. press the green Allow marking on the Adobe Player Utility, this will activate your webcam without the need of the driver.

3. Get the OS on Safe Mode and test the webcam for troubleshooting failures.

4 If you installed Skype, the default app needs to be disable so Skype can activate the webcam.

5. Fanally roll back the driver to the previous version on the Properties of the driver it self.
