Any plans to update Mobile Intel Series 4 family chipset drivers for Windows 8

I've heard Intel has no plans to update drivers for laptops older then 2011 that have upgraded to Windows 8.

I have a dilemma. I like the OS with the huge exception of being unable to run OpenGL games.

I am contemplating purchasing Windows 7, but wanted to know if Acer has any plans to update the Mobile Intel Series 4 Family Chipsets to be compatible with Windows 8 for OpenGL games (e.g. Minecraft, Angrybirds, etc.) before I do.

I currently have an Acer 6930 Notebook which originally had Vista which was a nightmare for me.
