After finally trying to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista, using the Acer Windows 7 Upgrade Kit, sent to me by Acer as part of original sale package, I have the the common ACER problem of not being able to complete the 3rd step of upgrade, which is to re-insert Disk 1 (Acer Upgrade DVD), to update drivers. After step 2, DVD drive is no longer recognized by computer, so DVD can't be read.

The bug was received from Acer in their Windows 7 Upgrade Kit, yet they will not provide any support since computer is out of warranty, even though ACER caused the problem. From internet searches, I found this was a common ACER bug with the W7 Upgrade Kit, but Acer is unwilling to even discuss the resolution with me, because I'm out of warranty. Surely will be looking elsewhere for my next PC due to ACER's lack of support!!

From internet searches, it seems problem can be resolved by downloading DRIVERS for CHIPSET and OPTICAL DRIVE POWER MANAGEMENT. CHIPSET driver is available from acer downloads, OPTICAL DRIVE POWER MANAGEMENT is not. So I am trying to find a free download for this driver, does anyone have a source?
