Hi, I have an Acer M5 481TG, when I made the windows 8 upgrade I lost the Intel Smart Response Technology capabilities. So I decided to make a fresh installation, I went to the bios to set the Sata disk to RAID but, surprise! There was only SATA and AHCI no RAID! So I installed on the HHD in AHCI mode. Later, I installed the Intel Smart Response Technology drivers and still was not working, I mean, no "Acceleration" button on the interface. I started the process over, but this time I formatted ALL units and made a Windows 8 fresher installation. At the end, guess what? No Intel Smart Response Technology working.

So, I guess the question is: How can I make a new, fresh installation of Windows 8 on my ultrabook with AHCI mode, preserving the Intel Smart Response Technology advantages?

-Ronald-

Good day

1. I can suggest that you update your bios to version 2.11

2. You can also download the Windows 7 Intel Turbo Boost Application and the Windows 8 Intel® Rapid Start Technology

This is how I resolve my problem and machines is superfast!

Thank you so much!

I´ve benn trying to update the bios from 1.4, the one that I have, to 2.11, but it gives me an error saying that I have to upgrade first to v1.x, and I can´t find version 1.8 or so anywhere!... So for now I have two options:

1- Restore and Downgrade to Windows 7

2- Keep Windows 8 and have the SSD has a back up drive... This makes me really angry because it makes it a regular computer when I got was an Ultrabook!!!
