Limited internet access when connecting HDMI cable to Samsung TV

I recently purchased an Acer S7-392 with Windows 8.1, discovered that my internet access became limited ie - none when I connected a HDMI cable from the right side port on my computer to the second HDMI port on my Samsung TV. My old Samsung computer, a Q430 with Windows 7 Home Premium does not have this problem on the same LAN, same cable and same TV.

Is the problem just with one USB port on your computer, or is it with all of them?

If you connect it to a different TV or device with HDMI, does it still affect your internet connection?

I only have 1 HDMI port on my computer. This is a HDMI to HDMI connection. It has nothing to do with USB. No I did not try it on another TV, but I did try another computer on the same TV with no internet problems.
