So I just got an S7-392-9890. I really do not like having to scroll UP on the trackpad to make something go DOWN on the screen. I've found the Synaptics ClickPad v8.1 settings in the control panel and found the checkbox for "Enable reverse scrolling direction". But it will not let me uncheck the box to remedy this particular perversion. Can anyone help?

if option is check but grey, it should exist in registry for enable disable

HK_CURRENT_USER / Software / Synaptics

sounds like place to start looking

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a resolution for you on this issue.

We have checked and our systems in house show the same behaviour with the same check boxes.

While the registry edit above may resolve the issue, we would not be able to support it, as changes to the registry can have unintended consequences.

Thanks very much for having a look at it.

Given that it really is a bit of an unpleasant oddity, perhaps you could send a message to the relevant people to suggest that they change it in a driver update.

It turns out there is a way to deal with this. If you uncheck "ZoomPerfect" it enables the option to undo reverse scrolling. Although one can then uncheck reverse scrolling and re-check ZoomPerfect, the reverse scrolling will re-engage. It seems that to have ZoomPerfect enabled it is always necessary to have reverse scrolling.

Brilliant answer! Its just to bad the people at Elan and synaptics cannot just offer each setting on its own Merritt and not tie it in with another. Reverse scrolling is something not everyone likes. Myself included as I grew up on PC's with the more traditional direction for scrolling. Just FYI the Elan Smartpad functions the same. Its a conspiracy.

Brilliant, worked for me. You have to thought control panel, Mous, Elan, Options and then to Additional tab to uncheck ZoomPerfect. Then go to multi finger and you will see the option of unchecking reverse scroll.

Great

Mine was installed with Synaptics Clickpad v0.6. Go to settings. Click and check Two-finger scrolling under Multifinger Gestures. Then hover your mouse pointer on it and a gear icon will appear on the right side. Click on it and you can now uncheck the enable reverse scrolling direction. You can only change it if you uncheck Zoom Perfect. Once youve done everything, go back to Zoom Perfect then check the tick box again.
