webcam problem Acer Aspire V5-573

Hi, I got my Aspire V5-573 and got windows 8,1 on it and my camera just won't work. I tried updating automaticaly the driver from device manager but no succes, says that the driver is up to date but it is a 2006 driver. then searched the internet for my models driver, got one that say HD Webcam but also does not work. Acer does not have a driver at the suport-drivers for my model. Please help! I also installed skype and does not open. it throws me back at the start screen. any suggestions why? thanks a lot. waiting for you answers!

What are you attempting to do to determine the camera is not working?

Was the camera working under Windows 8?

Did it only occur after installing Windows 8.1?

I directly installed Windows 8.1 so I don't know if it worked with other versions of Windows. I determine that the camera does not work because when I go to the camera tile in start screen it says that there is a problem with my camera and I should go to manufacture website. A camera driver can't be found anywhere on acer site. That is not right. Also a lot of people that I know have the same problem and after an internet search I found that is a comon problem. A company that big sould take care of this problem when so many people have the same problem and so many negative comments are heard.

To make sure I'm understanding, you purchased the unit and then did a retail Windows 8.1 installation on it?

Why would you not just do the updates in Windows 8 and upgrade to Windows 8.1 from the Windows store?
