DEAD LINK

Hello!

I've found a dead link in "Get to know Windows 8" page in support section. "Eligible Models" link is dead. It redirects to "ERROR 404 Page not Found" page. Please fix it ASAP.

Request/Suggestion :

I'm so happy if Acer team is kind enough to add my model into the eligible list as well. I have aspire 5745G notebook with first gen. i7 640M processor (2.8 GHz), NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M 1gb graphics, 4 GB DDR3 memory and 500 GB 5400 RPM HDD. Those hardware is more than enough to handle Windows 8. I've run Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant in my system and it says everything is compatible with Windows 8 except Secure Boot. Also individual hardware vendors have latest device drivers with windows 8 compatibility. But Acer haven't added "Windows 8 x86/x64" into the O/S selection dropdown list in "Drivers and Manuals" section yet (windows 7 is only option for now). BTW specifications page for my model also gone from Google search. It was on the top before few months. But now I could only see specs pages from various websites (not from Acer). Please fix all these things as well.

Please be aware that the Windows 8 Upgrade program has ended.

All systems which are qualified for the program have drivers available through the drivers page.

Additional older products are not being added to the list.

Thank you very much for the information. But how do u select which old systems are Windows 8 ready? 5745g, 5749g & 5750g etc are on that list, but 5745g (my model) is missed and not listed in affected models list as well

Any drivers that are released will be on our Drivers page.

I've looked at the Drivers for the three models you list:

Aspire 5745G does NOT have Windows 8 drivers posted

Aspire 5749G DOES have Windows 8 drivers posted

Aspire 5750G DOES have Windows 8 drivers posted

Yes. I own 5745G.. But most similar products have drivers for windows 8, mine does not have.
