Acer Aspire 5250 Is not saying it's Manufactured by Acer!

Hi everyone! I have an Acer Aspire 5250, and Windows 7 SP1 64 bit. I recently had to replace my hard drive, the original one just failed completely. I lost my Acer Recovery CDs as well as the original windows installation CD in the process of moving, and the laptop had no time left on it to make a new CD before the hard drive failed.

So, I got the new hard drive, installed the Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit CD that is from one of my other computers... My other computer is same Windows (obviously) But it is an ibuypower computer.

My Acer laptop when I go to Start>*right click* Computer> Properties... now says It's manufactured by iBuyPower Computers! So, therefore I do not have ANY Acer anything on my computer...

Does anyone know if any of the downloads from this site would work to help correct this? Or does anyone know anything about what to do? I Am not computer illiterate, but when it's this kind of stuff I cannot seem to find the answer.

Also, if I were to order the Acer Aspire 5250 Win 7 Home Pemium SP 1, I have to do it through Acer's parts supplier, and they want 50 dollars for the Factory Restore CD. I'm just trying to see if anyone out there knows if that is the only way or not. So sad

The recovery application is nor downloadable since it is unique for each computer depending on the hardware specification.

If you purchase the recovery disc directly from Acer, the CD costs approximately $19.95 (plus taxes) including shipping.

It will install the Operating System, all the pre-installed Software and the drivers of your system.
