Thanks but I did all of that and still have issues. It only happens when I'm in Google HangOuts, Screen Share...the audio goes wacky. I even bought a new mic but none of those fixed this.

I have a c720P touch screen chromebook which I really like but...when I use Google HangOut and use the screen share the audio goes crazy...it breaks up, drops out and makes weird noises. I've also had random audio issues when playing a video where it seems to goes into slow motion...

It's kind of annoying since I do a lot of HangOuts and create screen casts with HangOuts for my students.

Is this all happening while connected to the internet? If so have you tried on another network and still experienced the same problem?

I would suggest performing a Powerwash on the Chromebook, then reinstall your Google HangOut app to see if you still are experiencing the same symptoms. The video found in this article provides steps on how to perform a Powerwash on your Chromebook.

I doubt that is the issue. I also have a Samsung Chromebook when I use Google HangOuts on Air and share my screen, I don't get breakup and the audio issues.

At this time it looks like your audio is working fine outside this particular application. This is a third party application and I would suggest contacting the manufacture so they could provide a possible solution.

The link I provided does offer some information but also if you click on Hangouts systems requirements to the right it gives you more input on whats required for this app to work properly. The C720P comes with a 1.4ghz processor where the requirements ask for 2.0 ghz. I don' know if this is were the problem lies but again because this is third party, please contact the software manufacture for further assistance.
